Australian self-storage operator National Storage REIT (NSR) has signed on to be the premier sponsor for the Brisbane Broncos national rugby team in 2016. The sponsorship, which was launched at the Broncos' headquarters today, includes featuring NSR’s logo on the back of the club's jerseys through the 2019 season. It’s the storage company’s first venture into rugby-league sponsorship, according to the source.
"We've chosen the Broncos as a great platform to help us grow our brand awareness right across Queensland and Australia, where we have an existing network of more than 90 centers," said Andrew Catsoulis, managing director for NSR. "The Broncos are such an iconic club and share the same ideals of quality, success, service and a commitment to excellence as National Storage. We're very proud to officially link with the Broncos' brand, and look forward to working together to build our business and community support ideals.”
The Broncos also offered a sneak peek of its new Nike away jerseys, which feature a white- and maroon-paneled design with gold chevrons on the front. NSR’s logo will appear below player’s name on the back. Fan jerseys will be available for purchase in the Broncos Superstore in late November, the source reported.
"It's yet another great sign for this club after a year of on-field and off-field wins that we've been able to sign a premier sponsorship with a friendly, community-minded and progressive company like National Storage,” Paul White, chief executive for the Broncos, told the source. "Their timing is impeccable with the Broncos back in ‘top four’ calculations, and I know they will become closely associated with us, as they strengthen their market share across Queensland, which remains strong Broncos territory.”
The team’s previous premier sponsor, Pirtek, which provides fluid-transfer solution products and services, will stay on as an associate sponsor.
NSR operates more than 90 self-storage centers in New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. It’s the first independent, internally managed and fully integrated owner and operator of self-storage centers to be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.
