The Ace Community Art Gallery supports the NoBo Art District, an organization-driven area of North Boulder that was officially designated a creative district by the city in March. The designation is intended to preserve the importance of culture in Boulder and showcase the contributions artists make to its social and economic vibrancy, according to the NoBo website. The district organization is comprised of more than 200 “creative industries and professional, working artists in private studios.”

Located at 4635 Broadway, Ace is among eight businesses listed by NoBo that have opened gallery spaces to exhibit local artwork. The self-storage operator also participates in larger events such as monthly “First Friday” art walks.

Launched in 2009 by several artists and small businesses to organize support for creative endeavors, NoBo has presented more than 70 “First Friday” events in the last seven years. It also hosts meetings and organizes public art projects in neighborhoods.

Braider is influenced by minimalism and abstract expressionism, according to her website. She produces single pieces as well as series. She creates sculptures, shadow boxes, and triptychs and diptychs—works that feature multiple components but presented together as a singular art piece.

Brenton is inspired by form and color. She is part of the Boulder Open Studios juried tour and has exhibited her paintings at numerous venues around Boulder, according to her website.

Founded in 1983, Ace is family-owned and operated. Its facility comprises 700 units in 16 different sizes. Security includes gated access, lighting, perimeter fencing and video cameras.
