Two people were arrested last week in connection with a burglary at A-1 Security Self Storage in Mason City, Iowa. Officers responded to 4067 S. Federal Ave. just after midnight on Aug. 21 to investigate intruders caught on the facility’s video surveillance, according to the source.
During their search, police discovered a storage unit missing a lock. When they opened the door, they found two people inside with burglary tools. Neither had a connection to the person renting the unit, the source reported.
Thomas Bernard Hitchcock, 48, was arrested on charges of possession of burglary tools, third-degree burglary and violation of a no-contact order. Shelly Ann Hitchcock, 40, was also charged with third-degree burglary and had an existing arrest warrant.
