Anderson Cooper, CNN anchor and talk-show host, designated a segment of the May 23 episode of his talk show, "Anderson," as "Anderson's Storage Wars." As part of the segment, Cooper invited the cast of A&E's "Storage Wars" to talk about some of their recent finds and to host a fake self-storage auction among studio audience members. Self-storage operator StorageMart sponsored the segment and provided a fake storage unit filled with valuable items.
A $750 bid won the unit, which contains a vinyl record collection valued around $800, more than $1,500 of jewelry and a safe containing at least $1,075 in cash. The proceeds from the bid will be donated to charity.
StorageMart has more than 130 locations throughout the United States and Canada, offering residential and commercial units for rent, as well as moving and packing supplies at each location.
