StorageMart, which operates more than 190 self-storage properties across Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States, has purchased a facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa, just east of Omaha. It’s the company’s fifth location in the region.
The property is near Interstate 29, at the intersection of Harry Langdon Boulevard and Iowa Highway 92. It comprises 46,084 square feet of rentable space in more than 350 units, some of which are climate-controlled. Property features include an access gate and video cameras.
Nebraska’s population is set to pass 2 million, with the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area being the largest in the state, according to a company press release.
“The Omaha area is ripe for growth, and the new location in Council Bluffs is a huge win for local storage shoppers,” said Cris Burnam, president. “With fast and easy ways to rent online and dedicated customer service, we’re well-positioned to expand our motto of ‘easy, clean, service’ in the area.”
StorageMart purchased Cherry Hills Storage in Omaha a year ago. The property at 10010 Scott Circle consists of 531 storage units and was built in phases between 2005 and 2007.
Founded in 1999 and based in Columbia, Mo., StorageMart is privately owned and operated by the Burnam family, which has been in the storage industry for three generations. It serves more than 75,000 self-storage customers, and operates in Chinese, English, Punjabi, Quebecois French and Spanish.
