The Storage Mall, which currently operates 16 self-storage facilities in New Jersey and New York, has purchased another facility in New York as well as its first in Pennsylvania. The company acquired Rick's Storage at 3566 W. Main Street Road in Batavia, N.Y., which encompasses 15,275 square feet of storage space in 120 units. It features drive-up storage as well as oversized contractor units. The facility will be operated by the same management company that oversees the company’s other facility in the city at 8520 Bank Street Road, according to a press release.
Storage Mall also acquired Riverside Self Storage at 410 Eisenhower Blvd. in Johnstown, Pa., which comprises more than 40,000 square feet of storage space in 400 climate-controlled and drive-up units as well as outdoor parking. The facility is one of the largest in the area, the release stated. It will have onsite management, and offer U-Haul truck rentals and other ancillary products.
Founded in 2000 and based in Rochester, N.Y., Storage Mall operates nearly 600,000 square feet of storage space in 4,600 units. It’s looking to nearly double the size of its portfolio in the next five years through expansion along the East Coast and in the Midwest.
