A Storage Place, which operates 29 self-storage facilities in Arizona, California and Colorado, is expanding one of its properties and building two more facilities in Colorado.

The company is adding a two-story building comprising 52,000 square feet of storage space to its property at 29309 Industrial Way in Evergreen, Colo. Slated to open in spring 2016, the new structure will be across the street from the existing facility. Construction begins this month.

The storage operator is also building two new properties in Loveland and Sheridan, Colo. The first phase of the Loveland project, which is near completion, will include 40,000 square feet of storage space. A second phase is slated for spring 2016.

The Sheridan development will feature three stories and 48,000 square feet of storage space. Construction starts this month, and the facility is expected to open in April 2016.

The properties will feature the latest technology in steel-manufactured insulated buildings, wider interior corridors and aesthetically pleasing exterior finishes, according to a press release from McCauley Constructors Inc., the firm designing and constructing the buildings.

The developments are being driven by consumer demand, as many facilities in Colorado have a six- to 12-month waiting list, the release stated. “Colorado’s popularity has moved companies to expand their surrounding real estate holdings to plan for future growth. It’s an exciting trend we’re seeing with our clients in the major metropolitan areas,” said Leon McCauley, president of McCauley Constructors.

Once the new properties are complete, A Storage Place will operate one property in Arizona, 11 in Colorado and 17 in California. The family-owned company was founded more than 30 years ago.

Founded in 2005, McCauley Constructors is design/build commercial contractor for pre-engineered metal buildings. The company builds manufacturing, mixed-use, office and retail facilities as well as churches, parks and schools.
