Now that it’s been open a year, the 490-unit Crystal Lake Self Storage facility in Crystal Lake, Ill., will add another 50,000 square feet of storage space as well as spaces for vehicle storage. The project, which is expected to be complete next spring, will add 30,000 square feet of climate-controlled space and 20,000 square feet of drive-up storage in 510 units to the property at 647 Teckler Blvd. Property developer Fitzpatrick Investments LLC will complete the expansion.
Crystal Lake Self Storage, managed by Nick Andrea and Lesa Cvitkovic, caters to the nearby communities of Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, Huntley, Lake in the Hills and Woodstock. Property features include automatic-entry doors, a drive-in loading area, video cameras and online billpay. New customers can also use the facility’s truck for move-in.
The facility is managed by Absolute Storage Management Inc., which owns and manages self-storage facilities throughout the Southeast, operating more than 90 properties in 13 states. Headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., and founded in 2002, the company has regional offices in Atlanta; Charlotte, N.C.; Jackson, Miss.; and Nashville, Tenn.
