A Ray Self Storage facility in Burlington, N.C., suffered damage on Sunday after two vehicles collided in a nearby intersection and one slammed into a storage building. The property at 1907 Maple Ave. suffered about $20,000 in damages, police told the source.

The accident occurred about 5:40 p.m. when the driver of a 1991 Mazda, Jose Manual Galvan, attempted to make a left turn from Albany Street onto Maple Avenue. Police said Galvan was impaired and failed to yield to James Junior Dixon, who was traveling north on Maple Avenue. The collision sent Dixon’s 2003 Lexus off the road and into a building at Ray Self Storage.

Dixon and Galvan along with Dixon’s passenger, Michael Jennings, were transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, the source reported. Their condition has not been released.

Galvan was charged at the scene with driving while intoxicated, failure to have a driver’s license and failure to yield right-of-way. Both vehicles were totaled in the collision, the source reported.

Ray Self Storage operates two facilities in Burlington, N.C., and two in Greensboro, N.C.
