Moove In Self Storage, which operates 17 facilities in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has added a section of “Ultra-Premium” storage units to its facility on Centerville Road in Lancaster, Pa. Available in sizes ranging from 25 to 150 square feet, the units offer “advanced temperature control,” automatic doors with key-code access and carpeted floors. They also include individualized video surveillance through which tenants can view live footage of their unit 24/7 using a free app, according to a press release. In addition, the units have separate entrances “making them a private space away from the general traffic of the facility,” the release stated.
“We are excited to be on the cutting edge of a new kind of offering in the industry,” said John H. Gilliland, president and CEO. “We think that some of the self-storage clientele will want these extra features and are more than willing to pay for them. Time will tell.”
The ultra-premium unit project was begun in February and completed in May.
Moove In renovated the facility last fall, adding 22,900 square feet of space, including a new office as well as some climate-controlled and drive-up units. The facility’s exterior was also upgraded with the addition of a barn façade. Other improvements included a demo storage unit, new entrance, additional retail space and new windows.
