The Lock Up Self Storage, which operates 34 facilities in eight states, has made several account-management updates to its mobile app available on Android and Apple devices. Existing tenants can now pay bills through the app as well as set up autopay, update account information and view payment history, according to a press release. A new feature also enables customers to add photos and notations about stored belongings.
“Our goal is always to simplify and help our tenants better stay organized,” said Andrea Carnes, vice president of operations. “We want to ensure that our tenants can quickly and easily manage their accounts from anywhere.”
The photo/notation feature allows tenants to log boxes and individual items as well as keep a visual catalog of stored goods. Notes can be written directly from within the application. “It’s so easy for a tenant to forget exactly where a particular item is located and to waste precious time opening different boxes looking for it,” said partner Robert Soudan Jr. “Adding photo and text logging to our mobile applications will streamline and significantly reduce the search time our tenants spend in their units.”
The app is compatible with Android devices as well as Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch products. It’s available for free on Google Play and iTunes.
The Lock Up Self Storage is the operating brand of family-owned Lock Up Development Group, an affiliate of BRB Development LLC, which has offered self-storage services since 1976. The company currently operates 34 self-storage facilities in Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey and New York. It owns and manages more than 2.98 million square feet of storage space.
