Atlantic Self Storage is adding a three-story, 54,000-square-foot building to its facility at 3434 Monroe Road in Charlotte, N.C. The fully enclosed structure is expected to be complete this year, according to the source.
Under its current configuration, Atlantic has a series of single-story buildings and offers climate-controlled units and some “mega” spaces equipped with high ceilings. It offers boat/RV storage, electronic gate access, Penske moving-truck rentals, and moving and packing supplies. The facility also has a business center offering a conference room and free WiFi, according to the company website.
The property is about three miles from Uptown Charlotte and is adjacent to a Public Storage facility.
Charlotte has experienced a lot of recent self-storage development activity, driven largely by an influx of apartment dwellings, the source reported.
Atlantic Self Storage is part of a five-property portfolio operating under different brand names in the Carolinas. The portfolio includes two facilities in Charlotte, one in Cornelius, N.C.; one in Indian Trail, N.C.; and one in Lake Wylie, S.C.
