AAA Self Secured Storage opened in Fairfield Township, Ohio, this month. The 8-acre property at 2873 Princeton Road comprises 45,000 square feet of storage space in four buildings. It’s near a Menards grocery store and Ohio State Route 129.
Property features include 24-hour, gated access, individually alarmed units and video cameras. The operator also offers customers free use of the facility’s truck to new tenants for move-in.
Facility manager Mike Niehaus used his 35 years of construction experience to help design the property, which features some climate control, lighting and wide drive aisles. “It’s just the little things in this facility that make being here nicer than being someplace else,” he said. “It’s not the old-school storage facility. It was built to make people comfortable about storing their stuff here.”
Niehaus and two part-time employees oversee the site, but more staff will be hired as the facility grows. Plans are underway to add seven more buildings and 150,000 square feet of space, Niehaus said. Some of the new units will also be larger.
The facility owners have invested more than $2 million in the storage project. They’re now looking to open additional storage sites in Butler, Hamilton and Warren Counties, Niehaus said.
