Update 3/31/16 – Westy Self Storage is once again supporting the Long Island Volunteer Center’s Prom Boutique by acting as a donation-collection site. Donations can be dropped off at the facility, noon to 2 p.m., on April 10. It’s the eighth consecutive year the operator has hosted the drive.
“We are excited to continue our participation in the Prom Boutique. Sharing in celebration of milestones of young women, such as the prom, brings us great satisfaction,” said Tim Mincin, district director of the facility.
3/16/15 – Westy Self Storage of Lake Success, N. Y., is supporting the Long Island Volunteer Center’s 2015 Prom Boutique by acting as a collection site for donations of new and gently used prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, special-occasion dresses, shoes, handbags and costume jewelry. Donations can be dropped off at the facility at 2400 Marcus Ave. from noon to 2 p.m., on April 12.
Now in its 21st year, the Prom Boutique distributes dresses and accessories free of charge to help Long Island, N.Y., girls attend proms, graduations, “Sweet 16” birthday parties and other special occasions.
“The Prom Boutique is a way to help local young women celebrate these occasions with a beautiful outfit they would otherwise be unable to obtain,” said Diana O’Neill, executive director of the Long Island Volunteer Center, an all-volunteer agency working to provide support to and promote and advocate for volunteer services on Long Island. “We appreciate all the help of Westy Self Storage and the many other organizations that will be accepting donations on our behalf.”
