Employees of StorQuest Self Storage facilities in Southern California have formed a team to run in the Pasadena Triathlon, Duathlon and Rock n’ Reggae 5K charity event on March 15 at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, Calif. Team StorQuest hopes to raise $10,000 to benefit NextStep, a national nonprofit that provides fitness, health and wellness facilities for individuals with paralysis. Proceeds from the races will help fund the organization’s Los Angeles facility.
StorQuest staff members are collecting donations from friends and family and through its fundraising Web page at http://pasadenatri.mynextstep.org/storquest. The company will match its employees’ efforts up to $5,000. To date, the team has raised $4,485, including the matched donation.
In addition to the races, the eighth annual event will feature music by The Wayward Sons and 80 Proof, a beer garden, and food trucks. It is expected to draw 2,000 people, and racers are encouraged to dress in rock- and reggae-themed costumes.
Participation in the triathlon and duathlon has garnered 800 participants and registration is now closed.
StorQuest is the operating brand for The William Warren Group, a privately held real estate company that develops, acquires and operates self-storage facilities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, South Carolina and Texas. Founded in 1994, the company is based in Santa Monica, Calif.
