Self-storage operator Storage Post sponsored the 2011 Castaways Poker Run on Aug. 27 to benefit two charities: Camp Sunshine and Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. This annual boating event, arranged by the Lanier Partners of North Georgia, is held at Lake Lanier.
Up to 200 boats were able to register for the competition. The event included food, drinks, live music, celebrity appearances, prizes, the annual Pirate Poker Run Competition and the inaugural Miss Castaways Swimsuit Pageant. This years participants were encouraged to dress in pirate and patriotic costumes.
"We're proud to serve as a sponsor to the 2011 Castaways Poker Run," said David Vining, chief marketing officer at Storage Post. "The two benefitting organizations directly impact the lives and well-being of children throughout the communities we serve, including Atlanta and New York. We are proud to help such a cause."
Storage Post has a long history of charitable giving and involvement as event sponsors, festival participants and active members of the community.
Camp Sunshine is a children's camp designed to offer love, support and adventure to Georgia children with cancer. The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund provides financial assistance to the children and spouses of military members who have lost their lives in service.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Storage Post has locations in Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and New York and is actively pursuing acquisitions.
