Two Washington-state area self-storage operators are once again competing in a friendly competition to see which company can collect the most donations of pet food and supplies to benefit Kitsap Humane Society (KHS). Pro-Guard Self-Storage in Poulsbo and Bainbridge Self Storage in Bainbridge will accept donations of food, towels, lint rollers and other supplies Oct. 4-18.
The contest is the third pet-food challenge for Bainbridge Self Storage. Last February, Team Bainbridge, consisting of Bainbridge Self Storage, Bainbridge North Storage and Pacific Storage in Poulsbo, faced off against Team Reliable, which included Reliable Storage Bainbridge and Reliable Storage Poulsbo. The businesses collected a combined 2,000 pounds of pet food.
El Sabor Casero Restaurant is offering both teams a free dinner following the charity drive.
Donations can be dropped off at Bainbridge Self Storage, 9300 Sportsman Club Road; at its sister store, Pacific Storage, 15411 Silverdale Way; or at Pro-Guard Self-Storage, 20554 Little Valley Road N.E.
Self-storage facilities interested in participating in the pet-charity drive should contact Bainbridge Self Storage at 206.855.9500.
Established in 1908, KHS depends on donations to care for animals in need. Governed by a volunteer board of directors consisting of local community and business leaders, it educates the public on animal-welfare issues and how to better care for pets.
Bainbridge Self Storage, Bainbridge Self Storage North and Pacific Storage are owned by Urban Self Storage Inc., which was founded in 1987. The company operates more than 50 facilities in New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.
