The Jenkins Organization (TJO), a Houston-based self-storage owner, developer and management company that operates 52 properties in five states, held a fundraiser last week benefiting the Galveston Police Department. The Oct. 13 event at Stewart & 89th Self Storage in Galveston, Texas, included the sale of barbeque food and raffle tickets. Nearly $2,000 was raised for the purchase of bullet-proof vests for two of the department’s four police dogs, according to a press release.
“We are so proud of our property managers, Larry and Jayne Matteson, at Stewart and 89th for planning and implementing such a successful event,” said Courtney Jenkins, director of marketing for TJO. “We love giving back to the community, and we were thrilled to have had such a great turnout as this was the first time we tried an event like this.”
TJO has been actively acquiring, developing and expanding properties in Texas, particularly the Austin and Dallas markets. Planned growth this year includes seven new developments, five expansions and three acquisitions.
Formed in 1989, TJO has an ownership and management portfolio comprising more than 3.5 million square feet of storage space in Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
