Just Store It! in Kingsport, Tenn., will host a community yard sale April 28 to raise awareness and money for Holston Habitat for Humanity. The goal is to raise $2,000 through booth registration fees, according to Just Store It! employee Jennifer Taylor.
The self-storage facility has room in the parking lot for about 100 spaces. Booth space is open to tenants and the general public. A 10-foot-by-10-foot area is $25 and includes an 8-foot table. For $40, two spaces and two tables can be reserved. All registration fees will be donated to the charity.
Participants must manage their own booths, and can keep 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food vendors will not be allowed. The facility is near the busy intersection of Fort Henry Drive, Memorial Boulevard and Sherwood Road, and also connects to the parking lot of a grocery store.
After the event, the self-storage facilitys staff will collect and deliver any items not sold to the Holston Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
Holston Habitat for Humanity partners with families, businesses and other community members to build homes for low-income families. The charity is hosting a grand opening of its new ReStore location on Main Street in downtown Kingsport next month, Taylor said.
