Ideal Self Storage in Corsicana, Texas, hosted a holiday distribution day for the local chapter of The Salvation Army (SA). The annual charity event, which provides donated gifts to families in need, is part of SA’s nationwide “Angels” program, in which individuals or groups can purchase gifts and other items for a specific child or family. Volunteers deliver the items on distribution day.
This year’s event included more volunteers and raised more monetary donations than the previous year, according to Toby Romack, a sergeant with the Corsicana Police Department. Romack attributes the increase to the efforts of the advisory board, of which Ideal Self Storage owner Chris Martin is a member. Other board members include local firefighters and police officers, and members of a motorcycle association.
The program had 575 Angels as of distribution day this year. Romack predicts about 650 Angels will be included overall, the source reported.
In addition to its facility in Corsicana, Ideal Self Storage has a location in Waco, Texas.
