Devon Self-Storage in Lexington, SC, is seeking a home for hundreds of school desks the operator found in two abandoned storage units on the property. The desks were disassembled and stored at 250 Old Cherokee Road.
The facility’s general manager, Reuben Chandler, told the source the desks will be thrown out if someone doesn’t take them. He’d prefer to find a good use for them, so he’s looking for a classroom in need. “It’s always a time to give back, and I got plenty of them,” Chandler said. “We’d like to see people come get them.”
Schools or daycare facilities in need of desks are encouraged to contact the facility directly.
The Lexington property is owned by Devon Self Storage Holdings LLC an employee-owned, private real estate company founded in 1988. Over the past 24 years, it has owned or managed 183 storage facilities in 24 states and three European countries—France, Germany and The Netherlands.
Devon has maintained a dedicated self-storage operating platform since 1993. Since then the company has been involved with the acquisition, development, disposition and management of approximately $1 billion in self-storage assets.
