Access Self Storage, which operates six facilities in Texas, recently gave each of its managers $100 to donate to someone in need during the holidays. It’s the third consecutive year the storage company has enabled its managers to take an active part in its community commitment, according to a press release.

“It’s great to see our employees going out into the community and finding someone to bless over the holidays,” said Doug Hunt, who co-owns the company with his brother, David Hunt.  

Eddie and Linda Jones, managers at the company’s Lancaster, Texas, facility donated the money to a father of three who’s battling spinal cancer. The money enabled him to buy Christmas gifts for his children. The Manns, managers of Access Self Storage in Garland, Texas, helped a local church provide Christmas dinner to area families.

In Red Oak, Texas, managers Chuck and Mary Culp aided a mother of two who had recently adopted a teenager even matched the Access donation, delivering the funds just as family members became ill with the flu, the press release stated. The Culps also hosted a free gift-wrapping center at their facility during the holiday season.

“We really appreciate working for a company that cares about those in need and is willing to provide tangible support,” said Mary Culp.

Access Self Storage also has facilities in East Dallas, Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove, Texas. The company has a corporate-responsibility program through which it regularly contributes to local causes. According to the company website, each Access facility sponsors events throughout the year designed to support and encourage education, volunteerism and charitable giving. The Hunts are also fundraising co-chairs of the Texas Self Storage Association, which raises money annually for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas.
