Secure Self Storage (SSS) of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, spread Easter cheer last week by creating holiday-inspired paintings on its windows to be viewed by passersby. The art at 4325 25th Ave. featured flowers, decorated eggs, bunnies and chicks.
“They were done by our two staff members, Sandy and Amanda, and are free-hand-painted. It’s something to bring a little cheer and smile to the community,” said Kim Wallace, general manager. “Swing by after Easter for other themed windows. Sandy and Amanda are going to decorate the windows for all to see until our social distancing has ended.”
In 2018, the self-storage operator won in the “Non-Professional Window Painting” and “Best Float” categories at the Vernon Winter Carnival.
SSS also participates in the community by supporting several local organizations. It provides free storage space to a doctor who collects and distributes used hospital equipment to third-world countries. It has donated funds to New Manna Ministries, which provides school supplies, clothing, food and other items to families in the Ukraine. The company also donated $200 to the “Heroes Shave It Off” campaign, which raises money for brain-cancer research, and supported the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation’s annual “Light a Bulb” campaign to raise money for the purchase of new hospital equipment.
In addition to traditional self-storage units, SSS offers vehicle storage, and sells moving and packing supplies. Security measures include perimeter fencing and video cameras.
