Investment Real Estate LLC (IRE), a property-management and consulting firm serving the self-storage industry, has hired Mary Cornelius as accounting manager. Cornelius will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions for the Investment Real Estate Group of Cos. (IREGC), which includes IRE, Investment Real Estate Construction and Investment Real Estate Management. She’ll provide support and administration in banking and treasury, accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, and financial reporting. She’ll also work with the accounting assistant, according to a press release.
Cornelius has 35 years of commercial and residential real estate experience. She’s also been involved with various types of construction companies, implementing processes such as cost accounting and reporting for job profitability. She’s worked with startup companies, helping them follow federal, state and local municipality rules. In addition, she has a thorough understanding of accounting practices, with a good attention to processes, procedures and details, which will improve the accuracy of company financial reporting, the release stated.
