Storage King Group, an Australasia-based self-storage operator, has joined the Air New Zealand “Airpoints for Business,” program in which members can earn points when leasing a storage unit or purchasing packaging materials. Members of the program can use their Airpoints Dollars to buy airline tickets or retail products through the program’s online store, according to the source.
Storage King is among several merchants that recently joined the program, bringing the number of participating vendors to 55. “We have added 29 new businesses to our coalition over the past two years, which has delivered unparalleled opportunities for members to earn Airpoints Dollars on everything from their weekly food shop to the purchase of a new car,” Mark Street, the airline’s general manager of loyalty, told the source.
In the last year, program members redeemed Airpoints Dollars to book 860,000 flights, which is an increase of 100,000 flights and 33 million points redeemed over the previous 12 months, according to Street, who credited the growth to more participating vendors joining the program.
The Storage King portfolio includes 167 self-storage facilities in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The company offers franchise and third-party management services through Storage King Pty. Ltd. Facility acquisitions into the Storage King Property Fund are available in Australia and New Zealand. License opportunities are available in other international territories, according to company officials.
