The city council of Warner Robins, Ga., on Monday succumbed to the pleas of White Columns subdivision residents, denying a proposal to rezone 3 acres of land along Cohen Walker Road for the construction of a self-storage facility. This is the second time the application has been declined; the planning and zoning board denied the original proposal, for 11 acres, on March 16.

Gary Potts, the self-storage developer met with subdivision homeowners last week, promising to place a buffer, fence and additional landscaping around the development. He believed he and the residents had reached a mutual agreement, but those who attended the meeting presented a petition signed by 80 property owners who are against the project.
