Kirk Rejoins Extra Space as President
Spencer F. Kirk has rejoined Extra Space Storage Inc. as president. He will oversee business operations including field operations and corporate finance for the company. He has been associated with the Extra Space Storage organization for nearly 10 years, having served as executive vice president of the companys predecessor, Extra Space Storage LLC, for seven years, and as a director of the company since its IPO in 2004. Collateral Real Estate Capital promoted Alan Tapie to vice president. A member of Collaterals production team since 2001, Tapie is based in the companys Atlanta production office where he is responsible for multiple roles in loan originations, including new-client cultivation and maintaining existing client relationships. Trachte Building Systems, based in Sun Prairie, Wis., promoted Don Zeal to production inventory control and traffic supervisor. In this position, he is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the two departments. He also analyzes and implements production and material requirements to meet customer order schedules. Jeremy Mathwich has accepted the position of master logistics scheduler. Douglasville, Ga.-based DBCI, a provider of doors and building components to the self-storage industry, has added eight new staff members:
- Bray Allen has been added as a research and development technician. He also serves as chairman of the Rolling Sheet Door Committee for the Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association.
- Greg Andrews is the shipping clerk for the plant in Douglasville, Ga., where he will handle scheduling and shipping throughout the Eastern United States for self-storage and commercial door products.
- Roc Hughes has been appointed as director of business development and marketing, responsible for the district sales managers as well as inside sales and marketing campaigns.
- Nelson Hendrix is the Southeastern district sales manager. His territory includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi.
- Steve Pope is the new central district commercial manager, covering Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
- Marie Couch is a customer-service representative for the corporate office.
- Peter Hart was hired as the new Northwest sales manager, responsible for managing the companys door sales in Canada, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
