On Saturday, East Frederick Self-Storage is hosting a yard sale to benefit the Women Build project about to be launched by Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, Md. From 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on April 19, 10 to 15 vendors will sell various items at the facility's 100 Storage Way location. Shoppers will also have access to approximately 700 square feet of donated goods such as sofas, paintings, tables, chairs, phones and electronics, all donated to the event. All vendors will make a donation from their own profit, and 100 percent of the sales on donated items will be given to the charity.
According to property manager Stephen Conner, the facility has hosted fundraisers to support local charities for the past several years. Last year, the site raised about $4,000 for muscular dystrophy. For more information, call 301.663.4111; e-mail [email protected].
The Frederick Women Build project involves an all-women construction team who will raise half of a duplex on Madison Street. It is intended to encourage and train women in home construction. The groundbreaking will take place on Mother’s Day Weekend. For details, visit www.frederickwomenbuild.com.
