Alternative Storage of Cape Town, South Africa, has introduced an online space calculator to help customers determine the self-storage unit size that will best fit their needs. The company offers units in 21 sizes ranging from 3 to 55.4 square meters.
The technology allows users to choose from six room categories: living room, dining room, laundry, lifestyle and outdoors, bedroom, and kitchen. Once he’s made his selection, a customer can view a comprehensive list of commonly stored items and see how they would fit in the proposed space. For example, in the living room category, he sees items such as sofa, chair, coffee table, bookcase, desk and others. He can click the item type as well as the quantity he plans to store, and the calculator will generate a suggested unit size.
After using the calculator, the user can see available units in his required size. He’ll also see the unit number, location and rental rate. He’ll then have the option to reserve the unit through the website.
Alternative Storage has more than 400 units and sells moving and packing supplies, onsite and online. Security features include 24-hour security monitoring and video surveillance, security tag entry, and perimeter electrified fencing. In addition to traditional storage units, the facility also provides wine storage.
