Colorado-based Red Dot Storage has acquired a four-property self-storage portfolio in St. Joseph, Mo. The former Attic Storage facilities comprise a combined 204,600 net rentable square feet, with each offering room for expansion. Red Dot intends to automate the sites with its proprietary kiosks and point-of-sale systems, according to a press release from Argus Self Storage Sales Network, the brokerage that facilitated the sale.
The facilities are all within four miles of each other and will allow Red Dot to add to its presence in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area.
Argus broker Larry Goldman represented the seller in the transaction. Goldman also assisted the sellers in assembling the properties over a 19-year period, the release stated.
The Red Dot brand is operated by Boulder, Colo.-based Sparkplug Capital LLC. Launched in 2013, it owns and operates 113 self-storage properties comprising about 4.4 million net rentable square feet in 14 states.
Formed in 1994, Argus has 38 broker affiliates covering nearly 40 markets.
