The Texas Self Storage Association (TXSSA) is celebrating 25 years of service to the Texas self-storage industry this week during its annual convention and tradeshow, Oct. 16-18, at the Austin Convention Center. The associations founders and charter members will be honored during the event, which provides retrospective of the industrys milestones in addition to education, exhibits and other activities.
The convention kicks off today with a charity Texas Hold Em poker tournament benefiting the Shriners Hospital for Children in Galveston, Texas. A live and silent auction continues throughout the event, adding to the fundraising effort. Some of the items up for auction include a 2011 Jeep Wrangler donated by Global Roofing Company, two Club Car golf carts donated by TBRC Roofing, a weekend fishing trip in East Texas donated by Deason Financial, two week-long vacation stays donated by OMC Gate Service, and a ride in a MiG jet.
Tomorrow attendees can participate in a luncheon that honors association founders and features humorous motivational speakers from the OShea Report. Education sessions also begin tomorrow, addressing topics including self-storage finance, development, sales, marketing and more.
The tradeshow portion of the event opens on Monday evening and continues on Tuesday, featuring a wide range of self-storage products and services. More information can be found at TXSSA.org.
Established in 1986, the TXSSA was is a non-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing the quality of the self-storage industry in Texas. The association provides opportunities for members to increase their knowledge of the business through education, research and discussion.
