Innisfil Self Storage of Ontario, Canada, which is owned by the Eisses Family, donated $100,000 last week to the Rizzardo Health and Wellness Centre (RHWC), a healthcare facility under development near the Innisfil Recreation Complex. The donation was presented by Harry Eisses during the Feb. 27 town-hall meeting, according to the sources.

“We raised our family, we started our business here,” Eisses said. “With pleasure, we wanted to give back. We hope others will join us in giving to this much-needed service.”

During the presentation, Eisses also thanked other RHWC donors, including local farmer Boris Horodynsky and brother/sister homebuilders Diego and Sandra Rizzardo of SanDiego Homes, who kicked off the donations with their $2 million gift last year. “They’re an inspiration to us,” Eisses said. “Innisfil is a great place. The Eisses family has benefited much from being part of this community.”

Construction began a year ago on the 4,134-square-meter building at the corner of Innisfil Beach Road and Yonge Street. The first phase will open in April, with the project expected to be complete this fall. RHWC will house a variety of health services and professionals including family doctors and dentists, mental-health and addiction counseling, a walk-in clinic, telemedicine, physiotherapy, and a pharmacy. It’ll also provide services from the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

“It will be a game-changer for this community,” said Jason Reynar, the town’s chief administrative officer. “Healthcare has been woefully inadequate for so long.”

Community members have helped the town collect $3.3 million toward its $3.5 million fundraising goal for the building, the source reported. “To me, the remarkable piece is the outpouring of generosity from our community,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin.

Innisfil Self Storage provides climate-controlled and drive-up units, a retail center that sells moving and packing supplies, and outdoor vehicle storage.
