California self-storage operator San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) was a sponsor of the 5th annual San Diego Police Officers Association (SDPOA) Golf Tournament on June 21 at the Riverwalk Golf Club in Mission Valley, Calif. The event benefited the SDPOA Widows and Orphans Fund, which provides financial support to family members in the case of an officers untimely death or to the department member if his spouse or child dies. The association holds fundraisers throughout the year to support the fund.
The four-player golf scramble included prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive, straightest drive, putting and hole-in-one. The $110-per-person registration included the green fees, golf cart and dinner.
"It was an honor and privilege to participate in the golf tournament in which all proceeds from the event will be designated to support the needs of our local police officers and their family members, said J. Terry Aston, SDSS managing member. Kraig Haviland of SDSS and I were fortunate to be partnered in our golf foursome with two San Diego police officers who were superior golfers. Although we did not win a first-place position, the interaction with the San Diego police officers on our team resulted in a rewarding experience.
Founded in 1972, SSDS has a network of 18 self-storage facilities in San Diego County and additional facilities in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The company is locally owned and operated.
