New Alliance Ltd., a construction and engineering firm, is nearing completion on an environmentally friendly self-storage facility in its home base of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Branded as All Pro Storage, the facility will comprise 675 units and is being developed with several sustainable design features, according to a press release. It’s scheduled to open this fall.

Recycled materials are being used in the building’s construction, and the property will have permeable pavement designed to collect rain water for use at the facility, the release stated. Other features include a solar-powered heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, and LED interior and exterior lighting. The facility will also have an electric-car charging station for customers and staff to use.

"New Alliance is excited to offer these new services to the rapidly growing Burlington community," said Hernan Ayala, general manager for New Alliance. "We hope that demonstrating how environmental thinking and acting can be integrated into everyday life, residents will take greater interest in being more eco-friendly."

New Alliance has served the Burlington community since 2005. It has about 100 employees.
