Hawaii Self Storage will host its fourth annual garage-sale charity event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at its facility in Mililani, Hawaii. All proceeds will benefit the Hawaii Meth Project, a nonprofit organization that implements statewide community-action programs designed to reduce methamphetamine use, particularly among teens.

The self-storage facility has collected items from tenants and walk-in customers throughout the year and will offer for sale a wide variety of goods, including appliances, electronics, household items, books, kitchenware, furniture and clothing.

Representatives from the Hawaii Meth Project will also be on site to provide information about its services. The group is affiliated with The Partnership at Drugfree.org, a national nonprofit that works with families to solve the problem of teen substance abuse.

Hawaii Self Storage operates six self-storage facilities in the state. The annual garage-sale event is part of the companys Community Pride initiative through which it supports local causes. Each year, the company offers $4,000 in college scholarships to high school students and operates a literacy program for first-graders. It also supports local youth sports teams and participates in community-service projects.
