Big Yellow Self Storage in Cambridge, England, is sponsoring the Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (CURUFC) for its upcoming season. The donation will help the club to maintain its grounds and support the coaching staff for the six men’s and women’s teams, according to a Big Yellow blog.
“The Big Yellow Self Storage in Cambridge only opened in February this year, so we’re privileged to be the recipients of their generous support,” said Jeremy Macklin, a CURUFC committee member. “As an independently managed club, we rely on our partnerships with local businesses to ensure our supporters and players have a great experience, so we’re thrilled to have Big Yellow’s help for the season ahead.”
Established in 1871, CURUFC is an amateur-sporting club that has produced more than 320 international players, including Simon Amor, Gerald Davis, Gavin Hastings, Jamie Roberts and Ben Woods, the blog stated.
Big Yellow has also sponsored other rugby teams, including the Dorothy Stringer Rugby Tour, a 23-member team that traveled in April 2015 to South Africa to play other schools. In 2014, it supported the Southwark Tigers, an inner-city junior rugby club in London.
Big Yellow Cambridge is operated by Big Yellow Group PLC. The company has 84 locations in the United Kingdom under the Big Yellow Self Storage and Armadillo Self Storage brand names, with most concentrated in Greater London. Its total portfolio comprises 5.1 million square feet.
