OpenTech Alliance Inc., developer of the INSOMNIAC line of self-storage kiosks, released on online Success Kit for kiosk owners, which contains seven tips for marketing the unit as a facility enhancement and educating tenants in its use. Information for the kit was gathered over the last three years from OpenTech customers and its service organization. We have found kiosk usage more than doubles at facilities where the kiosk is marketed as an amenity, said Curtis Sojka, vice president of marketing. Once self-storage users figure out the kiosk can take payments and rent units, usage increases dramatically along with new rental income.
