Houston-area self-storage operator Amazing Spaces Storage Centers raised $33,586 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children during a party on May 16 to celebrate its 15 years in the self-storage industry.

The event, held at the operators facility at the Houston Medical Center, which is near Shriners, included food and wine. It culminated with a Storage Wars-themed benefit auction called by Walt Cade from the A&E show "Storage Wars Texas." Fundraising efforts also included donations from Amazing Spaces partners and raffle ticket sales from which four names were drawn to receive free storage for a year. All auction proceeds, event sponsorships and raffle ticket sales went to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Houston..

Leading up to the event, Amazing Spaces asked its network to donate items for the auction. Items included a weeks stay in the St. Thomas Virgin Islands, tickets to the Houston Symphony, a football autographed by Earl Campbell, shopping and dining gift cards, and more. More than 125 guests attended the anniversary celebration and fundraiser auction.

Since 2008, Amazing Spaces has held an annual fundraiser for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston, Texas. This is the second consecutive year it will also donate funds to the hospitals Houston location. To date, Amazing Spaces has raised $37,539 for the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Galveston and Houston.

Each year we are thrilled to be able to support such a great organization. We continue to be impressed by the mission statement of the hospital, which includes accepting patients regardless of their ability to pay. This is the kind of selfless attitude we want to support, especially when it benefits the quality of life for children, said Kathy Tautenhahn, vice president of Amazing Spaces.

Open since 1998, Amazing Spaces currently operates four locations in Greater Houston. The properties provide self-storage, RV and boat storage, wine storage, packing and moving supplies, and Penske truck rentals. Amazing Spaces Franchising LLC also offers franchise opportunities to qualified applicants.
