Actress Lindsay Lohan's self-storage unit is set to go to auction sometime this month due to non-payment. Lohan, 26, owes approximately $16,000 in rental fees, according to entertainment news source TMZ, which did not release the name or location of the self-storage facility.
Already under financial restraints, Lohan has been unable to allocate funds to prevent losing her belongings, sources reported. Its also been stated that her bank accounts were frozen earlier this year by the IRS due to unpaid back taxes totaling nearly $234,000. Last week TMZ reported that Lohan has been having trouble paying the $8,000-a-month rent on her Beverly Hills mansion.
Among Lohan's stored goods are designer clothes, family heirlooms and potentially embarrassing items, according to TMZ.
Despite her financial crisis, sources claim Lohan recently turned down two endorsement offers, one worth $100,00 for a phone application that blocks unwanted calls and another estimated at $30,000 for the celebrity to appear in a "don't drink and drive" message.
