The second phase, expected to be complete by August, will add another 18,000 square feet in 150 units. The five-story building on Hucknall Road has most recently operated as Hartley Business Centre, and the self-storage operator has preserved three floors for that purpose, according to the source.

B.E. Webbe acquired the property last year for £1 million and invested £250,000 in converting the ground floor. The project included décor, electrical fittings, improvements to the loading bay, and the addition of a management office and reception area. The phase-two portion of the conversion will cost £100,000, the source reported.

"We are delighted to have opened this facility in Nottingham. We have had our eye on opening a facility in the city for some time but wanted to make sure we obtained the right site,” company director Richard Blount told the source. "We chose this area of north Nottingham because we saw a gap in the provision of self-storage premises.”

B.E. Webbe operates five other self-storage facilities in England.
