New Hampshire Self Storage, which operates six facilities in New Hampshire under various names, has added a new climate-controlled building to its Gilford location that will offer specialized vehicle storage under the name “Big Boy Storage Box.” The structure at 10 Gilford East Drive contains 40-foot-deep units for the storage boats, RVs and other vehicles. Each unit is fitted with a 12-by-14, insulated, power-operated panel door, according to the source. Security features include access control and video cameras.

Business owner Richard Letendre received a temporary occupancy permit from the city. Once the landscaping is complete, a permanent license will be issued, he told the source. "It is renting up quickly," he said. Letendre plans to add more buildings to the site, which is near Laconia Municipal Airport.

Gilford Self Storage will host a grand opening of the new venture on May 27. Mix 94.1 FM will broadcast live from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the source reported.

New Hampshire Self Storage operates facilities in Franklin, Gilford, Hooksett, Manchester, Meredith and Wolfeboro.
