Personal Mini Storage Management Co., a Florida-based self-storage operator, launched its annual back-to-school drive this week to help A Gift For Teaching (AGFT) stock its shelves with new school supplies for the 2013-14 school year. AGFT is celebrating 15 years as a Central Florida provider of school supplies for teachers and students. School-supply donations can be made at any of the storage company's facilities until Aug. 15.

Personal Mini Storage is extending its commitment to AGFT this year by designating one of its facilities as a drop-off location for electronic waste (e-waste). Unwanted electronics in any condition, with the exception of cathode ray tube monitors, can be donated at its facility on Forest City Road in Orlando, Fla.

Personal Mini Storage Management Co. operates 34 facilities in Florida under the brands Personal Mini Storage, Gainesville Self Storage, Extra Closet Mini Storage and others. Headquartered in Orlando, Fla., the company is owned and operated by Laurie and Marc Smith, who, together, have almost 50 years of experience in the self-storage industry.

Founded in 1998 by Gary Landwirth as a way to recycle unwanted or surplus supplies from businesses, AGFT has grown into a tri-county-wide operation, daily distributing more than $40,000 worth of school supplies and incentives free to teachers and students.
